The online training program is a robust web application with many
features and utilities. As a result, it is very important
to make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements prior to signing
up for the program.
The program is designed to run on both MACs & PCs, and is regularly tested on Firefox, Internet Explorer and Apple Safari.
Due to certain coding limitations, however, we recommend Mozilla Firefox as the preferred web browser
for the Online Training Program. You can download the Firefox browser at
www.mozilla.com
Quicktime 7
All media in the Online Training Program is encoded using Quicktime 7. You must have the Quicktime 7 plugin.
Quicktime 7 supports the H.264 codec which allows us to compress video into
very small file sizes without sacrificing quality. If you do not have the Quicktime 7 plugin, your computer must
meet the following minimum system requirements in order to download and install the plugin:
MAC • 400 MHz Power PC G3 or faster Macintosh computer
• At least 128MB of RAM and at least 16MB of video memory
• Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later
WINDOWS
• 233 MHz Intel Pentium class or better processor
• At least 128MB of RAM
• Windows 2000 or XP
If you are unsure as to whether you have the Quicktime plug-in, please go to the
technique of the week page - if you can
watch the video with no problems, then you have the correct plug-in.
